Line Items

CyberDyne specializes in the distribution of internationally branded computer components & related accessories. Virtually every component that makes up a computer system is available from CyberDyne, for which the company has a strict policy of only sourcing internationally branded product of the highest quality and reliability. In recent years the company has become increasingly dominant in the areas of Memory, Flash Memory, Hard Disk Drives, VGA Cards, Cabling, Accessories & Computer consumables distribution. At any one time over 2,000 different product lines are held in stock and to ensure prompt availability of inventory locally, the company receives weekly consignments from its international network of manufacturers and suppliers thus ensuring that CyberDyne has arguably the fastest re-stocking turnaround in the local ICT industry.

Business Model

CyberDyne distributes its products via a national network of resellers, e-tailers and retail outlets. Many of the components located in PC, Notebook & Server platforms across South Africa have been supplied by CyberDyne - a company which is focused on providing component & accessory solutions.

MANAGEMENT

CyberDyne is a privately owned company which was founded in 1996 by Matthew Greenway who has remained the companies Managing Director since inception. Robin Greenway is responsible for the financial management of the business and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Between them, the Greenways have over 50 years worth of experience in the import & distribution business and have built a company that has become the dominant ICT distributor in the West Rand.

INTERNAL OPERATIONS

CyberDyne has been built from the ground up on an impressive infrastructure to support its core distribution business. This infrastructure includes:

Warehousing

CyberDyne's head office facility incorporates four (4) warehouses - each with separate loading bays, totaling over 8,000 square meters of storage capacity. To double stock holding capacity Mezzanine levels have been installed. All storage areas are connected by conveyor belts to ensure the rapid and efficient movement of inventory from shipment receipt, to dispatch.

Packaging

CyberDyne incorporates its own in house packaging department which is responsible for ensuring that all products are correctly packaged prior to dispatch. The company owns an impressive array of packaging equipment in the form of Fully Automatic Strapping machines, Semi-Automatic Shrink Wrapping machines, Palette Wrappers, fully automatic Carton Taping & sealing machines, InstaPak FillAir & InstaPak Expandable Foam dispensing machines as well as labeling & bar-coding equipment. All product is professionally packaged prior to dispatch to ensure that our customers receive delivery of product that are in factory-new condition and have not sustained any damage during transit.

Delivery

CyberDyne operates its own fleet of Delivery vehicles which range from Panel Vans up to 5 ton Trucks. Using this fleet of vehicles CyberDyne has daily delivery runs within the Gauteng region directly to the customer's premises. Because we are in direct control over this area of logistics and do not sub-contract local deliveries like so many of our competitors, we are able to fully control the movement of inventory from our warehouses to our customers' door.

ERP & Accounting Systems

CyberDyne runs SAP. The company standardized on SAP in December 2007 and chose the system because half of the world's Fortune 500 companies run the product. The best run business's run SAP and CyberDyne is no exception. Internal Servers & workstations running SAP ensure that the entire company is able to process all transactions in real-time and have a true 360 degree view of the business at all times. Management is able to monitor the performance of every company department on a constant basis via the system and this has given CyberDyne a unique advantage over its competitors.

Technical Facilities

An in-house technical department ensures that every product sold can be backed & serviced. CyberDyne has invested in computer hardware testing equipment, including the latest memory testing equipment from SIMM Tester in the USA. This ensures that product can not only be tested for compatibility, but also any product returned for service can be diagnosed correctly and repaired or replaced without delay.

IT Department

All CyberDyne's internal Workstations & Servers are managed in-house. Email & WEB servers are hosted on CyberDyne premises and are supported by an internal IT Department. Internal hardware & software is routinely upgraded companywide every 12 months to ensure the most modern technology is being used.

Alternative Power

Pre-empting Eskom's January 2008 announcement of power shortages on the national grid for the next five (5) years, CyberDyne purchased and installed its own Generator in December 2007. In the event of a power outage, the unit has sufficient capacity to supply the entire CyberDyne operation with power, thus ensuring that our business continues as normal and without any disruptions.

Personal

Many of CyberDyne's current employee's have been with the company for over 10 years. These people form the backbone of our business and have a passion for what they do. They have been part of the company's development and growth and have received unique training that other companies don't provide - that being the working in different departments or 'Job Rotation'. This ensures that all members of CyberDyne staff have a complete understanding of the business and not just a specific 'Job Title'.

Quality & Service Policy

CyberDyne does not cut corners - period. Since inception the company has earned a reputation for the quality of product it distributes as well as the service it provides. We believe in offering our customers the best value-for-money which is a combination of superior quality & service - at the right price. In an industry renowned for price wars, CyberDyne has never cut pricing at the expense of either quality or service and is the only distributor in South Africa which offers its customers a unique guarantee called 'The No-Quibble Plan'.
